The UWM Field Station’s Natural Sciences Workshop Program – Supported by FOCB

The Field Station’s long-running workshop program is offering 8 workshops on a wide variety of topics during the 2026 season (https://uwm.edu/field-station/workshops/).  Most workshops are two full days of intensive instruction that offer a unique opportunity to explore focused topics in natural history under the guidance of noted authorities. The workshops present college-level instruction and are designed to accommodate participants with a broad range of experience. The only prerequisite for any of the workshops is a keen interest in the topic. Enrollment varies by the topic, but is generally limited to 20, providing an informal atmosphere and individualized instruction.

The Friends are proud to be a financial sponsor of this great program. We also offer scholarships to students, paying the tuition to attend workshops. Last year we awarded 14 scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate college students. If you are a student, or know of a student, who is interested in attending one of these excellent workshops this summer, please apply. Our 2026 application process is now open.
