The Friends of Cedarburg Bog is 20 Years Old!
Articles of Incorporation of the Friends of Cedarburg Bog, Inc. were filed on August 29, 2005. In our 20 years, we have presented over 400 educational, recreational, and fun events at the Bog and UWM Field Station, and introduced thousands of people to our wonderful natural areas. We have designed, built, and maintained trails and boardwalks at Hwy 33 and Cedar Sauk Road for public access, and reconstructed the Field Station’s boardwalk to the heart of the Bog. We have controlled the invasive buckthorn on over 600 acres of the Bog and are working to continue that stewardship. There have been many other accomplishments but even these few highlights should be a source of pride for all the Directors, volunteers, members, and donors that have been involved with the Friends over these two decades.
