Joanne Kline
Joanne was in a sense the true “founder’ of the Friends of Cedarburg Bog. It was initially Joanne’s idea that the Cedarburg Bog and the UWM Field Station should have a friends support organization, and she was crucial to guiding us through the first half of our work. Joanne worked for 23 years as a water resources scientist with the Wisconsin DNR and devoted much of her energy to many conservation efforts and organizations in Wisconsin that will miss her steady guidance.
Mark Murphy
Mark was a member of the Board of Directors and served tirelessly as FOCB’s Stewardship Committee Chair for 9 years. Mark put his passion for conservation to action as one of the founders of the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust and the Mequon Nature Preserve, as well as his steady guidance of stewardship in the Bog when we were greatly expanding our control of invasive buckthorn, Mark liked to get things done and made sure that FOCB’s conservation efforts kept moving forward.
