Ferns of the Bog
Saturday, September 5, 9am – Noon
Join Freda van den Broek for an immersion into the fascinating world of the ferns and their relatives.  A short presentation will introduce the foundations of fern identification and natural history.  Afterward, Freda will lead a hike to explore the ferns along the Field Station trail and the upland Maple-Beech forest. Along the way we’ll discuss aspects of fern ecology and ethnobotany.

Natural History Workshops

The UWM Field Station located at the Cedarburg Bog offers a series of natural history workshops. These classes offer a unique opportunity to explore focused topics in natural history under the guidance of noted authorities. Hands-on field and laboratory investigations teach ecology, evolution, use of taxonomic keys, and techniques.
