The Friends of the Cedarburg Bog (FOCB) is offering a scholarship opportunity for UWM students taking field biology classes at the Field Station. This scholarship has been funded by generous donors to allow more UWM students to participate in field classes. Here is the 2021 FOCB Scholarship Digital Application that is to be completed and submitted to admin@bogfriends.org by April 19, 2021.
Three field biology classes will be offered in summer 2021; Field Herpetology: Identification of Wisconsin Amphibians and Reptiles, Fishes of Wisconsin: Taxonomy, Ecology, and Identification, and Plant-Insect Interactions: Ecology and Evolution. Each of these classes is available for 1 college credit. To obtain college credit, students should enroll in BioSci 562, Topics in Field Biology, on PAWS. Each class can also be taken as a non-credit student. To enroll as a non-credit student, sign up on the Field Station website (https://uwm.edu/field-station/workshops/workshop-registration/). Each class will be presented in a hybrid format. Lecture material will be presented online (asynchronous or synchronous, depending on the class). There will also be a one-day, in-person field session at the Field Station. Students can choose to attend either Friday or Saturday. See the Field Station website for more information (https://uwm.edu/field-station/workshops/).
